Barhopping with mom

Last night mom took me, Andy, Eleni, Martie and Jay to Murphy's Bar to see "Howard and the White Boys" play. Pete Galanis is the lead guitarist of this blues band and has been playing with them for quite awhile. Check out their website and pick up one of their CD's. They make great Christmas presents and as Pete put it yesterday, "for every CD sold, that's one week I don't have to eat Ramen Noodles"
So do your duty and support a musician!

Happy Thanksgiving

I would have loved to have posted pictures from yesterday's delicious dinner at mom's, however, my digital camera crashed in the middle of dinner and lost all the pictures on my memory card.

We all had a lovely time together, friends and family. Lots of great food, traditional Thanksgiving menu with a Greek flair. How can you have Thanksgiving dinner without pastichio and spanakopita?? Desserts included, kolokithopita, galopita, melomacarona, apple pie, pumpkin pie & cookies !!

Plenty to be thankful for, our blessings are too many to number ~ Thanks be to God.

Today, we are celebrating round 2. We did not head to the malls for the early bird Black Friday Rush but opted to sleep in. Cali and I will head to the mall a little later, after all the crazies have left. (I am thankful that I am not working retail again this year!) Angela is in the Turkey Tournament this weekend, so we will be spending some time at the gym too.

Tonight we are heading to Small Tula'sfor a traditional Southern meal. Hopefully I can get some pictures and post them tomorrow.

Gobble Gobble these cookies

Here's a quick easy recipe for some cute Thanksgiving cookies. I made them with my Sunday School kids yesterday and they were a big hit. You know they'll be making an appearance at mom's Thanksgiving dinner too!

Ingredients: Sugar Cookies, Candy Corn, mini m&m's, frosting

mystery rash

Last week Cali developed a mysterious rash on her legs and went to the ER. By the time she got to the hospital the rash was gone, but her breathing was so bad they put her on the nebulizer for an hour. Thankfully her roommate Trish went with her and took care of her. Next day, Andy and I ran up to DePaul with her nebulizer.
My new mission, to get Cali and Trish healthy again. College finals really do a number on these kids.
On Saturday I took her some avgolemono, some fruit, a couple of plants (for increased oxygenation and toxin removal ;) and a couple of containers of Damp-Rid.
I think next I will buy stock in "Airborne" and "Emergen-C".
