A Day At The Park

With the nice weather finally here, Maria and her friend Anna got to visit the park on Saturday. They had fun running, jumping and chasing Painted Lady Butterflies.

Fish

This is a fish, it's not real.

Jr. Olympics

This year was the 26th Annual Diocese of Chicago Jr. Olympics. Over 2,000 children from over 5 states came to Palos Hills to participate in various sports. It was Angela's last year on the soccer team and all their hard work paid off, their team took the gold! Not a bad way to end her career. Angela also entered a Doubles Tennis Match and had tons of fun with that too. Their team was "super" !

Angela's in here somewhere, can you spot her??

Cicada Time

All the hype and we still haven't seen any cicadas. Actually, Maria has seen a few at recess time, but she says they just sit there and don't move. Angela's bio teacher brought some to class, much to Angela's disgust. One teacher gave extra credit to anyone who ate a cicada, gross, huh? Our friend Patricia took the challenge and laughs about it saying it was cool...ugh! But, really I want to share a funny commercial from this week, it made me laugh :D
Here's the funny commercial

God Be With You Till We Meet Again.....

Today was my Graduation Day. It's been 7 wonderful years that I've been a part of Bible Study Fellowship International. We completed a study of Romans this year. I was in a wonderful group and was often encouraged by these strong women of faith. Our leader Mary was fun, energetic and Spirit-filled! It was uplifting just being around her. We ended this year with a lovely lunch at Cynthia's, sharing how this study has impacted our lives. There are a couple principles that stick out in my mind from Nancy's wonderful messages:

We have been appointed by God to be His Ambassadors.
There is no excuse for not knowing the Truth about God.
Life's goal is to give Glory to God through Jesus Christ.
(Thanks Nancy!)

I am so happy that I get to return to BSF in the fall, even though I've finished the series. I'm sure I'll learn even more the second time around! Next study, the book of Matthew.

Window in her Smile

Yay! It finally happened. The event we've been waiting for since Christmas break. Maria's front tooth has finally come out. The Koraes Tooth Fairy, a.k.a. Ms. Becky, did the honors this morning and put Maria's tooth in a lovely plastic tooth necklace. Maria wore it proudly all day as a badge of honor. I hope the Tooth Fairy remembers to come today. We've had bad luck with that in the past....right Angela?

Angela Takes a Tumble for the Team

Oh, my poor Angela. Last month, at a Track Meet in Palatine, she was running a relay when her teammate fell into her and took her out. Angela was down for a couple of seconds, not knowing the full extent of her injuries, got back up and finished the race. Afterwards, she looked down and saw this. She is on the mend and healing nicely, much to our surprise, thanks to a little homeopathic treatment.
